What Makes IABA's Independent Living
Services Unique?
A Constructional, Life-Building Approach
IABA’s Independent Living Services are rooted in the Multi-Element Behavior Support (MEBS) framework, emphasizing the intentional development of skills, opportunities, and supportive environments that promote long-term independence and well-being. Supports are proactive and individualized, with quality of life serving as the central measure of success.
Authentic Person-Centered Planning
Each person served plays an active role in shaping their own supports. Planning is collaborative and responsive, reflecting individual preferences, cultural identity, family and community connections, and desired levels of independence. Supports evolve over time as skills grow, interests change, and new goals emerge.
Highly Trained, Values-Driven Staff
IABA staff are carefully selected and receive comprehensive training in evidence-based, non-aversive practices. Ongoing coaching and supervision ensure consistency, responsiveness, and respectful support relationships.
Commitment to Quality & Accountability
Structured quality assurance processes are integrated into all Independent Living Services. Services are regularly reviewed to ensure alignment with individual goals, fidelity to person-centered practices, and positive outcomes for individuals and families.
Supporting Lives of Meaning & Choice
Independent Living Services at IABA support people in shaping lives that reflect who they are, what they value, and how they wish to live. Through thoughtful planning, skilled support, and deep respect for autonomy, IABA partners with individuals to support independence, growth, and belonging.
